Dr. Simone Sanin Veterinarian at Northeast Animal Hospital

Dr. Simone Sanin is a graduate of St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine, and completed her clinical year at the University of Florida. She was inducted into the Phi Zeta Honor Society, an achievement that highlights her dedication and excellence in veterinary medicine. Dr. Sanin is also Fear Free certified, and feels a trip to the vet shouldn’t be a negative experience for pets.

She takes pride in helping pets feel as comfortable as possible whether it’s for a yearly check-up or serious illness. She chose to practice small animal general medicine because she loves being a big part of her patient’s lives and strives to practice high quality preventative medicine to keep pets (and their families!) happy and healthy.

For as long as I can remember I wanted to be a veterinarian. As a little girl, I remember “poking” at my stuffed animals, and as I grew up and was volunteering at animal hospitals and shelters, I realized it was something that I could incorporate my love for medicine and science. So it was just something I really stuck through my whole life—wanting to become a vet!

My personal philosophy is really putting the pet first and giving you all the options of the best of the best that we can do. And then also being very understanding knowing that not everything is within everyone’s means, but being understanding as to what everyone is capable of in terms of their pet’s care, and just finding a happy medium so the pet is healthy and happy and the client is also comfortable with what we’re doing.

What I enjoy most about my work is getting feedback from clients that they’re so relieved that their pet feels better, that they’re pet is back to normal and healthy again. It really makes me feel good to know that I helped both the pet and the client because they have such a strong bond, and I know how people can be really affected by their pets’ being sick. So it feels good to help both of them.

Dr. Sanin is a Miami native who is fluent in Spanish. She relocated to St. Pete because she enjoys its slower pace, bustling downtown, and beautiful beaches. When she’s not working in the hospital she enjoys spending time with her family, biking, doing just about anything involving the sea - from laying out on the beach to scuba diving - and growing her newly-formed succulent garden!

Meet our other veterinarians: Dr. Mark Scribano and Dr. Ginger Benham.
