Meet the Team – Veterinarians
Northeast Animal Hospital is proud of our practice and our team of devoted veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff.
Let us introduce ourselves…
Dr. Mark Scribano studied at the University of Florida. He acquired his B.A. in 1983, completed two years of post-graduate studies, and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 1989. He is a member and officer of numerous local, regional, and national veterinary and community organizations.
Dr. Scribano’s out of office activities include spending time with his family, working in the yard, and fishing. Finally, last, but certainly not least, he is the owner of Northeast Animal Hospital and sees dogs, cats, and exotics with special interest in laser and stem therapy for acute and chronic pain management.
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Benham graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. She went on to complete a year-long internship outside of Boston, Massachusetts with the MSPCA – Angell Animal Medical Center, a national and international leader in animal protection and veterinary medicine. She became well versed in emergency and critical care medicine among other skills. After completing her internship, she moved to the Washington DC area and went on to practice for 5 years at an award-winning small-animal hospital in Arlington, Virginia.
Dr. Benham’s special areas of medical interest include emergency and critical care medicine, internal medicine, and cardiology. She has been a member of a number of local and national veterinary organizations. Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Benham received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Miami University in 2001.
Feeling it was time for a change of pace and scenery, she recently began looking for a city that offered a great quality of life, and a hospital where she could practice the high standard of veterinary medicine that she insists upon. She chose St. Petersburg, and Northeast Animal Hospital, to put down new roots and continue her personal and professional growth.
When she’s not working, you can find her on a jet-ski, or at home with her fiancé Lucas and their beloved pets: a dog, affectionately nicknamed “Fuzzy”, and two cats, Pi and Pirate Booty.
